We
purchased our first Mastiff in 1992. She was a beautiful dark
brindle girl named Victoria, aka Tory. She began our love affair
and addiction to these magnificent animals. Tory was not a show
dog (however she should have been. We didn’t know how
nice she was till we later learned more about the breed). She
was purchased as a pet and loving family member.
As
far back as I can remember, I always had a dog. I grew up with
Boston Terriers as a child. Later, when I was a teenager, I
begged my parents for a German Shepard. I always wanted a “BIG”
dog. I finally got my German Shepard as a graduation gift.
When
I married, our first family dog was a Great Dane Mix. She was
a wonderful companion to our 3 small children. Then one day,
while shopping at the pet store, I found a book on Mastiffs.
The minute I saw the dog on the cover I was hooked. I began
to read about Mastiffs and the more I read and the more pictures
I saw, the more I was mesmerized by them. When we went to “just
look” at a Mastiff puppy, she was the last in the litter
and of course my husband Tom said he knew we weren’t just
going to look….there was no way I was coming home without
this puppy. Little did I know at the time how much these wonderful
creatures would impact our lives.
We
purchased our second Mastiff Bozwell, aka “Boz”
in 1994, he was my first show dog. Again, I was now hooked not
only on Mastiffs, but the dog showing bug also bit me. I could
actually go to a show, enjoy the competition and meet other
people who were as “crazy in love” with the breed
as myself….emphasis on “CRAZY”. I have met
by best friends through the Love of Mastiffs and the Dog show
world.
Since
then we have been owned by 7 Mastiffs total. Our Tory went to
the Rainbow Bridge last year at the age of 11. Bozwell was our
first show dog, with whom I first learned about the show ring.
We lost Boz at the young age of 2 ½ to Canine Epilepsy.
You can read more about Boz on the MCOA Website under Health,

All of our dogs are Champions or working their way towards their
Championship. They are also always Owner Handled. Our 2 youngsters,
Riggs and Rain are currently working their way towards their
Championships. These 2 babies were our first breeding, and we
are very proud of them. We waited a long time to produce our
first litter and believe in only limited breeding.
Breeding
Mastiffs is not our business, but is our Passion. Nor do we
take any breeding lightly. Much forethought and planning goes
into any breeding we undertake. We believe in breeding for Soundness
of Mind and Body, correct breed conformation and type, while
preserving the natural characteristics and instincts of the
breed. As a breeder, we will always be here for any prospective
owner for the life of the puppy they purchase
